OUR PROJECTS
CARE TO PLAY
LPA passionately believes that all children have the right to play.
However, for some children we know that this is more challenging due to their circumstances. Therefore, we have launched our Care to Play Project, which supports young carers in the borough to access adventure playgrounds during term time and school holidays. We are producing a newsletter, which will help us to keep in touch with parents and relatives.
COUNT ME IN – VOLUNTEERS PLAYWORK PROJECT
LPA is offering an excellent personal development opportunity! We are recruiting Young People (16-24yrs) and Adults (Lambeth residents) to learn practical Play Work skills at introductory level FREE; training will also include health & safety, child protection & safe guarding.
LPA is a member of the Free Time Consortium (FTC) a growing collective of local and specialist organisations working together to increase freedom to play.
The “Count Me In (CMI)” program will develop an increased understanding of the importance of community participation and develop a pool of play work volunteers to support and sustain the play sector in Lambeth. Interested? Please call Pauline on 0207 733 5718 or email

STREET PARTIES
Our street party project has seen us work with Lambeth residents who have organised and run these fantastic events. LPA has supported over 35 street parties.
We help to make sure that children’s play opportunities are included in the event by providing workers and or resources.
We have helped people plan and arrange street parties. If you would like help in running an event in your area please contact us: sarah@lambethplay.co.uk
TRANSFORMING PLAY PROJECT
We are coming to the end of our improvement project, which saw us build new play structures and environmental play areas on adventure playgrounds across the borough.
We also supported playworkers to develop their building and maintenance skills by giving practical advice during the project and running a dedicated course for playworkers. Children’s involvement has been key during this programme. Children were initially consulted and produced drawings and models of what they wanted their play areas to look and they then helped to build the new structures.
LPA believes that making alterations to a play space helps to create a better experience for children. If you would like help or share advice about how to do this please get in touch!
